The 2022 TV anime Bocchi the Rock! is in the midst of post-recording right now! This time, we will look back on the recording from the post-recording scene and talk to Yoshino Aoyama-san, who plays the main character Hitori Gotoh!
- [Q1] Once again, please tell us how you felt when you were selected to play the role of Hitori Gotoh.
- At the office, when I was told "Bocchi has decided!," I remember that my waist fell out in real life. At the time of the audition, until I read the original manga, I thought, "A woman like me doesn't like Kirara's works anyway...," but when I read it and said, "No, wait." It's up to the viewers to decide whether the voices match or not, but I don't think there is a character who has a higher affinity with me than Bocchi-chan and stimulates empathy and shame.
- [Q2] What do you pay most attention to when playing Hitori Gotoh?
- It's about being real and "not having a conversation become a conversation." Usually, when I act, I put a lot of emphasis on how to catch the conversation. I often think about a lot of things, such as the sense of distance and the relationship with the other person. Still, Bocchi-chan can't do that herself, so I ask the sound director to give me detailed directions on how to talk and how to deepen my relationship with the people around me.
- [Q3] Aoyama-san, are there any parts that you sympathize with Hitori Gotoh?
- Eh, there are only parts that I can sympathize with... She said, "A water flea like me" and lowered her self-esteem before being evaluated by others and defended herself, it's already exhausting when I try to match it with "Yes!." I don't have a guitar technique that Bocchi-chan can be proud of, so it's even more difficult.
- [Q4] Please tell us your favorite chapter in the original manga.
- I also write lyrics myself, so when Bocchi-chan was chosen as the minister of poetry, I felt even more fortunate. I also have a notepad that seems to be cursed, so I looked back at it and it says, "Don't talk about dead feelings like they're alive," "The end of the elimination method," "If you share a lot, you'll look stupid" and so on. It's fragrant.
- [Q5] Finally, please convey your enthusiasm to the magazine readers.
- Surprisingly, this work does not look like "Kirara" in a good way. It vividly depicts the passion for music of these girls who can't live well. I was able to come across a really wonderful work and I was able to live. I will continue to walk with Bocchi-chan with my heart so that it will be an irreplaceable anime for everyone who sees this magazine. Thank you very much.
