"Enoshima Escar" (江ノ島エスカー Enoshima Esukā) is the ninth episode of the anime series, Bocchi the Rock!. It premiered on December 4, 2022.
Synopsis[]
Hitori thought that the concert would be successful and that she would have a fulfilling summer vacation. She has the plan to hang out with everyone in Kessoku Band (although she won't have any plans to join them), but there is no sign of being invited. When they see Hitori's behavior going crazy, they realize that she's not playing, so they go out to Enoshima to play.[1]
Plot[]
Bocchi recaps the recent concert of Kessoku Band that is to be succeeded by a four-member concert. She thinks that how many breaks are left. She wears headphones and plays the guitar, her mother opens the curtain, and Futari is playing around with Jimihen and sleeping together in the late afternoon. Bocchi lying down on the bed because it was a fulfilling day, but she's not thinking about it. She is so fun while playing the guitar, and thinks wants to hang out together with Kessoku Band. She remembers Nijika to see her at work again tomorrow. She tried to pick the place and time, but she can't think of a plan. She tries to call Nijika, but she cannot do it because of too late. During that, Nijika makes some coffee for her sister, Ryo looks for our T-shirt, and Kita takes a picture with her friend. A space man explaining the general theory of relativity. As Bocchi only watches on the video site. Her mother should not make her daughter lie and Bocchi will be back at school soon. Futari writes and draws something and it's already finished.
Bocchi is something acting strange again after leaving the live house. Kita talks to them about Bocchi staring into space and barely talking in days. Nijika thinks Bocchi is exaggerating to say the names of keto-carotenoid. Kita thought about Bocchi and seemed on the verge of tears, but she spontaneously started dancing the samba. Seika talks to them when Bocchi makes cicada graves in front of the live house. Kita wonders for today because the last day of summer break. Seika already asked Nijika what she was doing with her time off. Bocchi asked Futari to teach her to play guitar when Seika asked her. Thus, Futari's words sent her sister into a spiral and Bocchi cleared her schedule.
Kita wanted to invite Bocchi, but her schedule was packed every day. Nijika is not practicing but cleans up at home or works on the live house. Ryo watches the horror movie and picks a CD. Then nobody invited Bocchi, Seika tell them to need to change her band name. Kita asks Bocchi if wants to hang out, but Bocchi says the names of acid. She knows they want to go to the beach together with Enoshima. Bocchi asks them about our practice, but Nijika can practice any time when it's not our next concert. Bocchi talks about her memories, and Ryo is aware that might be too late to swim. Bocchi imagines the sunset beach and looks for the Guitar Man and the Guitar Woman. They are tired while making so much fun, the Guitar Woman talks to him about the summer will come again next year and they are saying "tropical love forever". Bocchi happens to have fainted herself, and Nijika takes her out while she is docile. Kita will let carry Bocchi and Nijika finally going to Enoshima. Kita remembers Bocchi that will be making those summer memories soon.
After they get into the train, Bocchi acts weird when talking to become a black hole. Nijika thinks that Bocchi hates school. Kita's school does not strict, but it's on the liberal side and the cultural festivals are fun. Nijika's school does pretty strict and the cultural festivals are super uptight and it's mostly science project posters and stuff. Nijika recognized Ryo that bomb of her tests, for the same reason, she picked the school because it was close to home. Ryo is a cram-the-night-before type when she worked hard before the exam and forgot to play bass. Kita tried to stop Ryo from rattling around in her skull. Ryo doesn't get why Bocchi is so isolated at school, but she's so fun. Kita will make sure to talk to her when school starts again, but Bocchi is dreaming right now to drop out of school.
After they arrive at Katase-Enoshima, they use today to make a fun summer memory with Bocchi. Kita taking a picture with Bocchi, Nijika didn't say that Ryo will get some sea salt soft-serve. Kita needs to wake Bocchi already, Nijika looks for the beach is so big. Bocchi wakes up and remembers now for the beach. A tanned man surprise her when she come to eat our beach snack, and Bocchi exploded because it is a party animal. Nijika carries Bocchi and they run away from those men.
They buy the takosen for themselves, Kita gives her takosen to Bocchi and then explains the takosen. Bocchi eats the takosen and reacts to it for delicious, and Ryo also reacts to it too. Kita takes a picture again with a takosen. Bocchi recognized that already ate takosen and their summer memories and the climax of her summer.
Before they will be climbing, Bocchi seems almost tired to finish it. Kita will climb to the top, but Ryo, Bocchi, and Nijika cannot do it either. Kita glows at all of them. She seems energetic, Nijika and Ryo look tired while climbing, while Bocchi is much tired to climb it all. Nijika and Ryo take a break first, but they just started. Bocchi almost reached it near them. She looks for the escalator and they will ride it. Ryo seems doesn't have money, but she wants her to see some good bass guitars.
Bocchi promised Ryo will pay back the next month, but Ryo had never broken a promise in her life. Nijika will leave to take it out of her paycheck. They reach it, but the escalator is kind of exhausting. Ryo is reacting to the air feels quite liberating, Bocchi needs to take a picture together. Miitan listens to Takkun when he is not thinking and they confess themselves.
After going to the tower, Kita satisfies the viewing and needs to get drink it. Nijika feels relaxed that the tower has aircon. Ryo describes the tower as the Tower of Babel. Nijika, Bocchi, and Ryo leave the tower after a short time, and Ryo's favorite part was the aircon.
After buying ice cream, Kita selfies with the ice cream. Ryo buys the sea salt soft serve earlier, and Bocchi pays her back for the ice cream. Nijika think that they had plenty of fun and might want to eat shirasu-don. Ryo is impossible to buy it, Bocchi heard from that sound. The bird snatches Bocchi's ice cream and attacks her. Nijika moves the birds away but thinks they should head out. Kita should go to a shrine visit before heading home.
Kita explains the shrine and describes it as a goddess. Nijika wishes her band's future success. They drop the coin and wish them. After wishing, Nijika thinks Bocchi wishes pretty hard, and Nijika wishes and thanks "Goddess, thanks for making our concert a success. Keep that good fortune coming!" She returns to practice tomorrow, even though the band doesn't have a next concert scheduled. Bocchi can't tell them after wishing. While wishing, she wants to turn back to the first day of summer.
One hour later at the train, Nijika is almost reaching from here to Shimokitazawa. Kita tells Bocchi will change trains at Fujisawa. Nijika yawing from the train and sleep, Ryo tells them to wake up at Shimokitazawa. Kita wishes to do some Kamakura sightseeing and had dinner together. Bocchi looks for the sky and thinks of a long trip for the first time. She almost wishes to stay out a little longer. Kita will spend all of the winter breaks with Kessoku Band hanging out, and Bocchi doesn't want to go outside every day. Bocchi spent the whole train ride up unconscious, and Kita's fun will continue until Fujisawa. Bocchi asks Kita when she enjoyed hanging out all today, but she thinks she can face school starting tomorrow. Kita will enjoy the new term together.
The next day, Bocchi can't move her body and her mother wanted to ask her when she will be late for school today. Bocchi doesn't feel good and wanted to stay home, she thinks about her muscles are sore. Her mother helps Futari to wake Bocchi. Futari asks her sister to wake it up, but it won't come up.
At Shuka High School, Kita greets her friends, and in the final shot, a poster was shown for stage performers wanted.
