Elena Hinata (日向(ひなた) ()()() Hinata Erena) is a character from Bocchi the Rock! manga series. She was initially introduced as a member of an idol group called Tenshi no Cuticle (Angel's Cuticle), better known by her stage name, Raphael (ラファエル Rafaeru), and had performed in a few events where Kessoku Band was involved. After the disbandment of Angel's Cuticle due to a scandal with one of its members, she began working as part-time staff at STARRY.

Character Information[]

A former idol who was left heartbroken from her group's disbandment, Elena found new meaning by becoming a dedicated fan of different bands and musicians, with her favorite being Ryo Yamada. In addition to being a part-timer at STARRY, she is a popular waitress of a concept cafe. She generates a large amount of income from her jobs and spends that money on things such as albums to support the bands she is a fan of.

She is a novice at playing bass, and has agreed to form a band with Nene Ohyama and Teru Horie in the hopes of getting closer to Ryo.

Appearance[]

Elena is a notably tall girl with dull, purple hair that is dip-dyed green and purple eyes.

Personality[]

Elena has a very exuberant, bubbly personality, she often can be seen and heard cheering or giving praise to musicians she is a fan of. She is also very friendly and considerate towards people she has just met, offering assistance and starting conversations with them.

She is an obsessive fan, especially towards Kessoku Band and Ryo Yamada. Her obsessions can reach the point of her digging up the history of her favorite artists and following them around. She is also a big spender when it comes to purchasing music albums and other merchandise.

Etymology[]

  • The name Elena means "blessing, grace, favor, wise, kind, kindness, fortunate" ( e), "love" ( re), and "what" ( na).
  • Elena's surname Hinata means "sunny spot" (日向 hinata).

Trivia[]

  • Her surname is derived from Hidekazu Hinata, the bassist of Straightener. Hidekazu is also a member of Nothing's Carved in Stone and FULLARMOR.
