Bocchi the Rock! Theater Compilation Re: (劇場総集編ぼっち・ざ・ろっく!Re: Gekijō Sōshūhen Bocchi za Rokku! Re:) is the first part of the theater compilation film based on the anime series by CloverWorks. The film has two parts that will be screened in Spring 2024, with another being Bocchi the Rock! Theater Compilation Re:Re:
Promotion and release[]
On May 21, 2023, during the concert event "Kessoku Band LIVE -Kousei-," a web preview for episode 12 had been updated with an anime theater compilation announced to be screened in spring 2024.[1][2]
On October 14, 2023, a teaser visual and PV were released during the anime's 1st-anniversary event, "Bocchi the Talk! -LIVE-," revealing the release date for two parts.[3][4]The title of the two films has been confirmed to be Re: for the first part and Re:Re: for the second part later on. [5]
A new PV for Re: part of the compilation movie has been released in the AnimeJapan panel event on March 24, 2024, which also features a new song will be present as its theme, Tsukinami ni Kagayake. [6] The movie is set to be on screen on June 7, 2024.
A short clip series titled Bocchi the Playback is released occasionally since May 2024 featuring selected scenes from the series, as to promote the film release in their official X and TikTok accounts.
The film is announced to be screened as early as midnight of 7 June in selected cinemas in Toho Susukino Sapporo, Toho Shinjuku and Toho Ikebukuro, as well with Midlands Square in Nagoya and ufotable Cinema in Tokushima.[7] A live streaming of Bocchi the Talk LIVE to countdown on the film release is scheduled on 22.30 JST together with Kessoku Band casts in Aniplex YouTube channel.[8]
A roadshow programme is held with the casts in cinemas around Japan in June 2024 where casts of Kessoku Band have meet and greet sessions with the moviegoers. [9]
Overseas distribution[]
On June 5, 2024, days before the movie opens in Japan, Crunchyroll has announced that both parts of the compilation films will be screened in North American cinemas. [10] On July 13, Crunchyroll France has announced that the film will be screened in the country.[11] Crunchyroll Germany also confirms the screening in the country.
It was later announced that the movies will be screened as double feature with Re:Re:, with screening in United States and Canada is set on October 6 to 8. United Kingdom, France and Australia dates also has been announced for screening on October 7, 15 and 17 respectively. [12] Mexico also confirms screening of the movie on 1 October.
Mighty Media has confirmed screening for both films in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau with the Re: movie will be first shown in the region on July 26. They also plans to bring movie bonuses from Japan to the region.[13]
Daewon brought the films in South Korea, with the first will be the fan screening which include stage greetings with all four Kessoku Band voice actress in 6 different session in Seoul on July 20 and 21. The general screening is scheduled in the country from August 7 [14]
ODEX, a prominent anime film distributor in South East Asia has brought the film to the region with the Philippines is the first to see it via the fan screening session in ODEX Film Festival in Manila on July 13, though the general screening will only came later on 9 October. Malaysia held their fan screening on 28 July and along with Brunei, will start their general screening on 8 August. Laos and Cambodia starts their general screening on 25 and 26 July respectively. Singapore held their own fan screening on 3 August, and Thailand follows on 10 August (general screening starts on August 15 and 22 respectively). Indonesia held their fan screening on 10 August and general screening on 14 August. Vietnam was the last to confirm the screening in the region on 11 October.
