Aki Hamazi (はまじ あき Hamaji Aki, born November 17[1]) is a Japanese manga artist. Hamazi is known for creating the series Bocchi the Rock! which was also adapted as an anime by CloverWorks.
Shōnen manga artist Nozomi Higasa (日笠 希望 Higasa Nozomi) is her real sister.[2]
Career[]
In 2012, Hamazi applied for the 71st Newcomer Comic Awards (Girl/Women Category) at Shogakukan and won an honorable mention, and made its debut in 2013 with Swan☆Complex published in the super-large special issue of Ciao Deluxe in spring.[2] The pen name was Chiaki Hayami (はやみ 知晶 Hayami Chiaki)[2] and until 2014 Hamazi wrote multiple works at Ciao Deluxe, but by the time Hamazi made its debut after continuing to post, Hamazi began to think, "I want to draw moe-type manga rather than shōjo manga." Therefore, Hamazi brought the manuscript to Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara and made its debut again in 2015.[2] At the Next Manga Awards 2019, the series won the 8th place in "Comics Category."[3] It was the first award-winning work in Manga Time Kirara series.
